During the last weekend of March, the streets of Malaga have become one of the most incredible sports celebration venues on the planet due to the fifth edition of the MARCA Sports Weekend. This sports event has been held for the second year in Malaga. It also coincided with the visit of the Spanish national football team to La Rosaleda to play the first classification match for the 2024 European Championship against Norway.

A Sports Event Right in the Centre of Málaga: A Benchmark for Sport Lovers
On March 24, 25, and 26, Malaga hosted one of the most significant sports events in the country, where we could see a large cast of legendary sportsmen and women who won the hearts of all attendees: the MARCA Sports Weekend 2023.
Muelle Uno, the promenade, the Pompidou Centre, the Plaza de la Merced, Calle Alcazabilla, the University of Malaga, the Real Club Mediterráneo, Finca Cortesín and the municipal football pitch El Pozuelo II in Torremolinos were the prominent locations chosen to host this fantastic sports party, which kicked off with the Mini Solheim Cup by Reale golf tournament on Friday 24th Match at 10:30 a.m. The event concluded with a triple jump exhibition by Jordan Díaz, one of Spain’s great promises of athletics.
In addition to having performances by great stars of the national and international scene such as Yulimar Rojas, the current Olympic and world triple jump champion, the canoeist Saúl Craviotto, the basketball player Luis Scola, the cyclist Alejandro Valverde and the trial racer Laia Sanz, the sports event held in Malaga hosted several round tables. Talks, where people shared experiences, lived in the world of sports. From Toni Nadal, Rafael Nadal’s famous tennis coach and uncle, to the former goalkeeper Leo Franco: people in Malaga could enjoy the wisdom of personalities who live for sport.

During the MARCA Sports Weekend 2023, Malaga witnessed how national and international sports legends from all disciplines came together. The Malaga skyline was joined by stars of the caliber of Luis Scola, legendary Olympic basketball champion, and football superstar Ronaldinho, who was honored for his brilliant career. In addition, we were able to celebrate the rise of new promising athletes who participated in the LaLiga Talent sports competition, which crowned one of the contestants as the most outstanding player of the MARCA Sports Weekend.
There was even more: this sports day occurred while the Spanish Football Team was visiting Malaga to play its first match of the Euro 2024 Cup.

In addition, they could enjoy the capital’s best chillout atmosphere and views that put the crowning touch to any celebration, which is so distinctive of La Terraza de San Juan.
